Ceramic materials

Ceramic materials

Ceramics are biomaterials, now commonly used in the medical fields as dental implants and bone implants. Surgical cermet is used regularly. Joint replacements are commonly coated with bioceramic materials to reduce wear and inflammatory response. Other examples of medical uses for bioceramics are in pacemakers, kidney dialysis machines, and respirators. In this session, we explore into the latest bioceramic researches over various aspects of their biomedical applications.
